Join the Kansas Association of Wheat Growers
Wheat is more than just making a living - it’s a way of life. The heritage of Kansas wheat farmers needs to be preserved. The number of full-time farming operations is dwindling. We have fewer input providers and grain handling companies than we did 10 years ago. These trends affect our rural communities, businesses and families. The Kansas Association of Wheat Growers and the Kansas Wheat Commission are working together with as Kansas Wheat to insure that we preserve our heritage and way of life in rural Kansas.
As wheat producers, we band together to foster a profitable environment through innovation. Through KAWG, Kansas farmers have stepped forward to lead the nation-wide effort to increase research and investments into wheat. We’ve increased the wheat assessment cap in the state legislature, lobbied for increased federal appropriations for the world-wide Ug99 stem rust efforts and other wheat research investments as well as incorporating Heartland Plant Innovations to collaborate with public and private investors .
Together we can do more. Involvement in your wheat growers association will enhance your farming operation and allow you a leg up in adapting to market changes. Through these benefits, you’ll stay in tune to the changes in the Kansas wheat industry.
