The Kansas Wheat Commission and Kansas Association of Wheat Growers staff and board members were saddened to learn of the grain elevator accident in Russell, Kan. last week.

Wheat harvest is generally a time of happiness and togetherness, but what the silo collapse at the Agco, Inc. elevator in Russell reminds us is that the agriculture industry is dangerous. Collectively, the Kansas wheat industry grieves for those whose loved ones were lost in the tragedy, and we pray for peace and understanding for those families, friends and co-workers.
